Having a design philosophy deeply rooted in art and architecture, Therese Carmel finds inspiration in the work of legendary Golden Era architects including George Washington Smith, Paul R. Williams and Edgar Ullrich. Taking into careful consideration a home’s scale, proportion and inherent beauty, rooms are then animated with élan –infused with inspired compositions of art, alluring textures, color, and unexpected accents. “It’s not uncommon for us to mix a chic sofa, Chinoiserie Lacquer Table, French ‘40’s Maison Jansen Chairs, contemporary artwork, and a statuesque fig tree in a vintage faux bois planter.”
When they aren’t obsessing over each design detail, scouring the world for the perfect antiques, or enjoying a cup of French Press coffee, the duo adores spending time by the ocean with their family and energetic dogs, Maxine and Burleigh.
