ANTIQUE MORTAR CANDLES
These ancient mortars originally date back to the 15th Century. After the collapse of the Roman Empire, villagers hollowed out the dense limestone capitals they found, and used them for food preparation and storage. Our mortars were recently taken to Provence to a local Candle marker. Using the traditional techniques from centuries ago, he poured Scented Mediterranean Fig Candle in these beautiful Ancient Mortars. The candles are quite long lasting, but when they have finished burning, these Ancient Mortars make stunning planters for both in and outside the home.
